The Breede River Lodge Boat Club is located in the small coastal town of Witsand, a nature lover's paradise at the mouth of the Breede River in the Western Cape.

Although Witsand is a peaceful coastal town today, it was bursting with steamboats in the 1800s heading for Cape Town.

Witsand is considered the whale nursery of the South African coastline and very popular among anglers because of the large variety of line fish that can be caught here.
